My New Sister

On Christmas morning, Catherine asked Jesus to be her savior! It was the best Christmas gift ever to have a new sister in Christ. Here is the story. I felt like one time while I was praying that God said someday he wanted me to tell Mike and Catherine about Him. I made a mental note about it and waited for His timing. The day before Christmas we got a phone call asking us if I would be able to watch Mike and Catherine some on Christmas morning. I said I would love to do it. When I went over that morning, I was cleaning the dishes and I heard the Lord gently say, "I want you to tell her about me." What? I was so nervous. She has dimensa, a form or althimers and I had no idea how this would happen but I had heard of it happening before. My friend Nikki had encouraged me one day before this by saying "Spiritual things are done through the spirit so even if someone has something wrong with their mind, they are able to move spiritually." I was so afraid I felt the Lord say "take your time, you will have another opportunity." I ran home after breakfast. When it was time for lunch I went back. I felt the Lord say again "I want you to tell her about me." I prayed Lord help me to start the conversation. Immediately Catherine said, " I had a daughter that died during birth." In which I was able to say "Your daughter is in heaven now." From there I shared the gospel with her and she received Christ into her heart.

True Love Is Forever

In a world where marriages don't always last, there's Mike and Catherine. They've been married over 70 years. Catherine is 88 years old, and Mike is 92. They live in Connecticut in a small white cottage in the country.
We moved next to them this summer and I was asked to help make them breakfast and lunch on the weekends. I was thrilled that I was asked because I know that deep down in my heart I want to be just like them some day. When I'm old, I want to live at home and be in love.
They make the perfect couple. Catherine happens to have lost most of her mind and can't recall much but she is pysically able to do almost anything. She takes long walks around the lake and picks up sticks for the fireplace. When she gets home she puts the sticks in the front room and she has an entire room full of sticks! When I get old, I'm putting stick gathering on the top of my to do list. Mike is physically very weak but he can get around the house. His mind however, is as sharp as a whip! He can remember back during World War II when he was friends with President Roosevelt. Like I said, they make the perfect team. Catherine does anything physical for them and Mike is the brainy one. He's quite brilliant and has done many unique things throughout his life, like building our town's first firetruck.
I'm off to help them make breakfast for the first time!
